Private Pinterest Boards for Your Child (and You)
I noticed the private pinterest boards awhile back, but I never started one, until now. Ironically, I got the idea from a pinterest pin about opening an email for your child when they are born. The idea is to send them notes and pictures over the years, and then giving them the password when they turn eighteen. I immediately tried to open an account in my son’s name, but his age prevented me from getting it. Of course, I could just lie about his age and open the account anyway, but something stopped me.
What about creating a private pinterest board for my son where I could pin almost anything. Wouldn’t it be easier to upload the adorable pictures of my son to Pinterest straight from my phone with that handy little share option?
Not only pictures of him, but pictures of all his paintings, drawing, and art projects that I worry won’t stand the test of time. I can easily and quickly document every step of our vacations and everyday outings. I can write those notes to my son, in my own handwriting if I want, and scan and upload them to his board. Not to mention all those pins with beautiful (and sometimes hilarious) quotes about motherhood, children, and life that tug at the heartstrings. They say the things I never thought to say, and now I can share them with my son when he is old enough to understand.
Plus, on days I’m feeling a little blue or nostalgic I scan through his board and can’t help but smile.
